What's New in the truck?
Well I finally found a way to get the sub to take the beating of the 1000 watts coming out of that RF bd1000.1 , I bought a POWER series sub that will hold 2000 watts. I'm still running the same box for now but will be swapping it out for a new aluminum and carbon fiber box. It will be pretty sweet I hope.
My parents got my a nice rail system toneau cover for the truck while we were home in Ohio for Christmass, it is a real nice addition and a nice thing to have. It makes hauling stuff so much easier.
I put in some of those funky looking surfer seat covers, since I have two candy slinging kids.
Well I dropped some money on a new stereo system... I bought a new Pioner DEH-P6300 head unit with the organic display, it has EVERYTHING built in, sub out, high pass crossover for the full range, nice EQ, custom staging, remote...Everything. I also bought some new power in the form of a Rockford Fosgate Punch 250.2 for the front speakers and a Rockford Fosgate POWER bd1000.1 for the sub, yes THE sub. I put ONE Rockford Fosgate Punch HX2 10" in the rear floor as an extention of the center console. The sub is a dual voice coil, aluminum basket, extreme excursion Beast that is supposed to hold 1000 watts. I found out the hard way that it doesn't and it is going to be about impossible to find a 10" sub to handle this 1000 watt mono amp... bummer. I guess I'm going to try one last attempt at the perfect box.... Maybe I'll try a solid 1/4 inch plate STEEL box, no more weak ass wood for me. I knew of a guy doing it with a Honda Civic and 25 12inch JL subs, It was extremely loud. I did everything perfectly right down to the Rockford Fosgate 1.0 Farad stiffening capacitor and all the best in wiring. It sounds really nice but I still have to figure out how to get the sub to take the beating of the 1000 watt amp. I'll try to keep this thing updated.
